"Tim & Eric's Billion Dollar Movie (2012/Blu-ray/Magnet, Magnolia Home Ent.)" Review

Review: Tim & Eric's Billion Dollar Movie is based of the 2 main characters Tim and Eric from the show "Tim & Eric's Awesome Show Great Job!". The plot of this film is quite simple, basically Tim and Eric end up getting investors to give them a billion dollars to make a film and they drop the ball and fail at it. So they decide to run away and hide from the investors, after seeing a commercial while in the bathroom of dance club they decide to take on job that promises to pay a billion dollars to come run a mall. After they arrive to take on the job they realize they are in for more than they expected which includes odd stores, bizarre store owners, transients, and a killer wolf. Now the question you have to ask is, is this film really filled with shrim like it claims?

Needless to say not everyone is going to like the humor these guys bring to this film as well as their show. Even being a big fan of their very much off beat show I still am split in ways on weather I like this film or not. At first thought about them actually making a movie I was thinking it would be like one long episode and in ways it is because you do get alot of their normal humor from their show as well as some of the same characters, but at the same time it does feel different. I think that is because it's structured like a film instead of one after another randomly weird skits. If you are not aware of their style of humor, well it's basically "anti-humor" and strangely offbeat.
In other words their humor is gross out type mixed with borderline annoying childish humor, which I actually like from time to time. If you take life way too seriously you will without a doubt hate this film. For those who have seen the show will be familiar with some of the characters that Time and Eric do not play on the show, also mixed in is some fresh characters like Jim Joe Kelly(Zach Galifianakis), Allen Bishopman (Will Forte), Damien Weebs (Will Ferrell), Chef Goldblum (Jeff Goldblum). Now the new character who stole the show for me was Taquito which was played by the hilarious John C. Reilly. In the end they got a hilarious cast of some of the funniest actors in the film scene today that each have their own place in the film no matter how odd the characters are.
One thing I do want to get back to is the humor. The best way to describe to you how far their own brand of humor pushes the envelope can be summed up in one of my favorite but quite gross scenes of the film. What happens in this scene is that Eric taken into the Shrim Healing Center and is convinced by the leader of the center to get into his underwear and a shirt and sit in a bathtub and then 4 kids surround him and start shitting diarrhea all over him while Eric is in the tub, meanwhile while he is going through this they keep flashing to Tim having sex with Eric's one true love Katie. Not to mention some very kinky sex that involves a huge dildo and a strapon. If that doesn't tell you what some of their humor is then I don't know what will! Gross but great in a twisted way! The pic below is from that scene!

I would have to say that if you already like the Tim and Eric show then if you haven't already checked out this film then I say go do so, but if you have never seen the show please go watch it before you view this film because it is seriously an acquired taste type of film! My final thought is that I do like this film even though I am still a little split on it!
