"Puppet Master: Axis of Evil (2010) Blu-Ray" Review

Synopsis: In a Stateside hotel during the height of World War II, young Danny Coogan dreams of joining the war effort. Following the murder of hotel guest Mr. Toulon by Nazi assassins, Danny finds the old man's crate of mysterious puppets and is suddenly thrust into a battle all his own. He discovers that Nazis Max and Klaus, along with beautiful Japanese saboteur Ozu, plan to attack a secret American manufacturing plant. After his family is attacked and his girlfriend Beth is kidnapped, it is up to Danny and the living deadly Puppets to stop this Axis of Evil.

Review: Being a longtime fan of the Puppet Master series I was excited to find out that there was going to be a new chapter in the Puppet Master story and it's been a long 10 year wait. I have to say the wait was worth it and it helped take the taste away from the very forgettable "Puppet Master VS Demonic Toys" which was bad mistake for someone to make. Now with this film I found it to follow the legacy of this series quite well and of course brings back the original 5 puppets along with a new ninja puppet. I definitely can say that the cast in this film is a step above most of the actors in the previous films and they don't seem stale half way through and actually were very likable and I am even talking about the Nazi assassins. The only person to get remotely irritating or boring after awhile was Danny's brother who just seemed obnoxious after a bit. The story in this film takes off pretty much right after the Mr. Toulon is killed in the first film and Danny comes along and ends up taking the suitcase with the dolls in it and he sees the assassins after they leave and then he goes back home to the united states and takes them with him so this film really feels more like a direct sequel to the original than "Puppet Master 2" did. When it comes to the puppets I am really happy they went with the original 5 and they did them the old school way and didn't try to do them with CGI because if they would of then this film would of sucked even with everything else being as good as it actually is in this film. The sound and picture of this film are both top notch and look and sound amazing, I hope Charles Band keeps the movies coming with this level of quality. Overall this is one of the best Puppet Master's ever made and I think will be well liked by fans of this series and I can't wait to see if they do a sequel that is spawned from this one! A must buy for any Full Moon or Puppet Master fan!!!
