Texas Hippie Colalition-"Pride of Texas" Review

Review: What we have here today for review is the southern metal band Texas Hippie Coalition (aka T.H.C.). Now this band is fairly new to me and this is the first album I have ever heard from them and just by hearing their name for the first time I thought I would get something way more different than what this band delivered. What you get with this band is pure southern metal with plenty of groove infused metal riffs and a style that is somewhat reminiscent of Pantera and Black Label Society. This band also does a great job with mixing great melody with hard hitting riffs on such tracks as "Troublesome Times" and "Leavin", they also do a fantastic job at delivering some kick ass straight up metal songs like "Pissed Off and Mad About It" and "No Shame". Other than the musical aspect of this album I really loved the singers voice and how he is able to deliver more gruff vocals along the side of harmonistic vocals perfectly with plenty of soul. Overall I loved this album and it is one I will watch over and over again and I would highly recommend it to anyone that wants some bad ass groove oriented metal! 5 out of 5!
