"America: The Story of Us (2010) (Blu-Ray)" Review

Review: Being someone who is a huge fan of the History channel and learning things in history that I never knew about so when I had a chance to review this series on Blu-Ray I jumped right on the chance to do so. Since I was little history has always captivated me and I can say that the History channel hit a home run with this series.  For those who are not familiar with this series I will give you a basic rundown of what you get with this series. What you get is an amazing visual feast that is comprised of live action and CGI re-creations of some of the biggest moments in the  history of the United States that is intertwined with thoughts about our history from a variety of people. The visual feast that you get in this series is beautifully shot in HD with props, costumes, and sets that very well made and quite historically accurate. When it comes to the CGI it is also very well crafted with awesome detail and you can tell it took a long time to create. As awesome as this series and Blu-Ray set is the only thing that wasn't as good as the rest was some of the people that they had give their thoughts and some of them that I didn't like from the mix was Donald Trump, Melissa Etheridge, and Meryl Streep, what I would of done is switched them out with people who are professional historians. Even though I don't like some of them it still doesn't take away from or make this series any less likable. Another thing I must point out is that unlike some of the programs I have seen before this one doesn't get long winded and actually keeps a good pace up and keeps you drawn into each chapter. I highly recommend this to history buffs and people who are wanting to learn more about the United States. Overall this is a great series and an amazing Blu-Ray set that I highly recommend you going out and buying!
