"Love Ranch (2010/Blu-Ray)" Review

Synopsis: Grace and Charlie Bontempo are a husband/wife team who own and run one of Nevada's first legalized brothel ranches. Their lives are irrevocably altered when Armando Bruza, a world famous heavy weight boxer from South America, is brought to the Ranch to train as part of Charlie's ever expanding entrepreneurial empire. Plans quickly go awry when Bruza comes between Grace and Charlie as an unforeseen romantic triangle develops that erupts into uncontrollable passion and murder.

Review: Is it me when ever I hear the name Joe Pesci I instantly think of casinos and mobsters, well like alot of other films he has done this one is no exception. Joe Pesci is back to what he knows best and that is being a bad ass in a gambling city. The plot to this film is basic and really isn't anything too special, but what does help to redeem this one is the cast. With a lineup like Joe Pesci & Helen Mirren you can't go wrong with giving this film a chance. Joe Pesci plays your typical mob style badass who doesn't take shit from anyone and Helen Mirren plays a wife who is being pushed to the edge by her husbands infidelity and the constant onslaught of christian protester coming after her and her husband over the brothel. Both of their performances shine brightly along with a supporting cast that shines just as bright. The supporting cast consists of such talents like Scout Taylor-Compton (Halloween 2007), M.C. Gainey (Con-Air), and Bryan Cranston (Breaking Bad) to name a few. Now I would not say this is a great film, but at the same time I can say it was quite enjoyable and entertaining. Overall this is a pretty good drama film that has a great cast and deserves at least one watch.
