"Freakshow (2007)" Review

Synopsis: When a band of criminals are hired as security guards for a traveling circus sideshow, they plan turn the group's exploitation into their financial gain. But when the crooks get careless, the freaks plot their revenge.

Review: Normally when it comes to films that The Asylum make they are usually rip-offs of current popular big budget films ,but made on a way smaller budget. Now in the case of this film it isn't quite like that because they basically take the 1932 classic "Freaks" and twists it around a little ,but still keeps with the freaks getting revenge story. Now I have to say that even with this film being more like a Freaks ripoff it still works pretty good for what it is and it was actually alot better than I was expecting. The cast was actually very well selected and each person pulled of their character perfectly. I did like the dialogue of this film even though it does lack at times here and there ,but if you really look at it what film doesn't have that problem. Now when it comes to the gore I can tell you it is definitely done by practical effects and actually looks awesome especially when they get revenge on this one girl and they sew up her mouth and then proceed to dismember her while she is still alive. I can tell you that this film is way more graphic than the original Freaks movie. Now the only thing I wish that this film would of had ,but is missing is a "making of" documentary because I would of loved to see some behind the scenes footage of the making of this film. Overall this was a pretty cool movie that stands on it's own quite well and is sure to surprise horror fans in how good it actually is!
