"Movie 43 (2013/Blu-ray/20th Century Fox)" Review

Review: Of all the films that I have heard about this year the one that stands out the most as being the worst film of the year is "Movie 43". All I knew is this film was one that consisted of a big cast of known A-List and B-List celebrities doing fucked up skits that push the envelope.
Now that is true, but it is a hit and miss type of film like you would expect from a film like this. I can say that when the humor works it works well. The easiest way to describe what Movie 43 is about well basically the wrap around story is about 2 friends that decide to pull a prank on one of the guys little brother. They tell him that there is a video if you watch it then anything you want will come true, they distract him and have him looking all around the internet for it while the older brother goes and tries to get viruses on his little brothers computer. Now the segments with the celebrities tie in by being a mix of videos the kids runs across.
Now don't worry you don't have to sit through 43 segments, there is only a handful of them. Of the 14 segments I really only liked about 5 of them. Now the 14 of them are not all full skits some of them are short parts that are the length of a commercial. The best to me was the one called "The Catch" which had Hugh Jackman playing a successful and rich guy who has a set of testicles growing out of his neck and he is on a blind date with Kate Winslet's character. She is shocked by what she sees and her reactions are priceless. The humor is quite raunchy and works in burst and is there just to offend. Which on occasion I don't mind that sort of comedy because sometimes I am in a mood for straight up offensive comedy.
I guess the thing that made me interested in wanting to see it is the fact that you get these actors that typically do not do this sort of comedy actually doing this type of comedy. In ways it shows that they are not serious all the time and can have some fun. Really that is what this film is, it is a somewhat fun film to turn your mind off and just enjoy it for what it is. Now if you are overly politically correct them stay away from Movie 43 because it's not made for you. If you can find this at your local Red Box then check it out, but if not them wait to rent it in the nearly new section.
