"Devil Hunter (aka El Canibal/Sexo Canibal) Review

Review: The story to this film is pretty simple, basically there is this female model who gets kidnapped and taken to and the jungle and of course is held for ransom. The agency she is working for hires an Vietnam vet to track her down and get her safely back. One thing the hostage takers didn't expect for is a monster that feasts on human flesh that the local natives worship and give sacrifice to. Well that is basically the story to this former "video nasty". The characters in this film are not that bad even though the dubbing in this film is quite bad, but the only characters that bother me is the local natives, basically they look too clean cut and not savage at all and on top of that they're tribe is quite small. Now when it comes to the monster character I kinda like this character minus the ping pong ball eyes that have painted veins on them. Like expected the dialogue is bad at times and really doesn't impress me, same thing goes with the story. At times the movie seems too slow down and kinda bore me. One thing I must add is if you are expecting alot of gore, well you won't get alot of it but if you wanna see plenty of boobs then you will be just happy with this one. When it comes to the overall DVD I'd have to say that Severin did a fantastic job with the look and sound of the film like they always do. Overall this is a bad movie that is in a genre that can be too over played out but for some reason I would consider this a guilty pleasure and a film to watch with a group of friends and have a ball with it. I give this film a 2.5 out of 5!
