"Necrosis" Review

Synopsis: Six friends arrive at a secluded cabin to enjoy a long weekend in the snow. Little do they know that their vacation spot is located on the site of the infamous Donner Party Massacre - a tragic event in 1846 when a group of snow-bound settlers devolved into madness and turned on each other in a cannibalistic frenzy. When an unexpected snowstorm hits, the cursed ghosts of slain Donner Party members are resurrected, determined to exact their revenge. Are these true demonic entities or is 'cabin fever' bringing out fears and paranoia, causing friends to turn against each other as reality deteriorates around them?

Review: It may be an odd trend for me but I seem to keep finding and getting sent good horror films to review and trust me this is one of those good horror films. With the recent release of Dead Snow it put me in the mood for films that take place in the middle of nowhere with a bunch of young people in their 20's have to deal with some sort of abomination. This film is a little different than the one I stated previously, this one plays with your head more than playing with your guts. I really like how this film is based around the Donner party because as far as I know no other movie has done this. Taking such an infamous act and making a horror film around it makes it that much more creepy and that much more kick ass. One thing that really helped drive this film was the cast, I really thought they picked a great lineup of actors especially the 2 that stuck out most to me James Kyson Lee (Heroes) and Tiffany (80's Pop Icon). This film also has a great atmosphere that really gives you a feeling isolation and at times a feeling of helplessness. Overall this a very haunting film that I would recommend to any fan of ghost films. Trust me this one will leave you on the edge of your seat!
